The smartphone flow is the fastest, but it is not the only one. USSD and in-person verification reach the same assurance tiers.

On your phone or browser

The full flow, usually under five minutes.

  1. Enter your NIN, BVN, or another supported document
  2. Take a liveness-checked selfie
  3. Receive your credential in your wallet

By USSD

No app, no data, any handset.

  1. Dial the TrueID short code
  2. Follow the prompts to enter your identifier
  3. Complete a biometric check at any agent to reach Tier 2

In person

With help, near you.

  1. Visit a partner branch, agent, or enrolment centre
  2. Bring one supported document
  3. Walk out verified, with your credential on your phone or as a code

Before you start

What to have ready.

  • One supported document: NIN, BVN, passport, driver's licence, or voter's card
  • Your name and date of birth as they appear on that document
  • A device for the biometric step, or an agent visit to complete it
